New Features

Over the last few months we’ve introduced a few new features. You may have already noticed some of them if you use Photosymbols regularly. Others are meant to make things easier behind the scenes. Here’s a quick guide to what we’ve done so far.


When you’re browsing thumbnails, you can keep scrolling down instead of clicking on ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ to move through the pages of thumbnails. This is particularly handy if you use a mouse with a scroll-wheel or a trackpad. But you can also use the down arrow on your keyboard. As you scroll down the next rows of thumbnail images automatically load so you can move through them quickly.

You can add images you use regularly to your ‘Favourites’ by clicking on the blue ‘Add to Favourites’ button below any image. When we first set up our new website you could only add a maximum of 50, which many of our customers found a bit limiting. Now you can add as many images as you like to your Favourites.

Upload your own pictures

We’ve also introduced a new feature that allows you to upload your own pictures to your favourites folder. Some of the things you can use this for are a) Your own logo or logos of local groups. b) Photos of places like your building or places you hold meetings. c) Pictures of people in your group or staff members. d) Photos you’ve taken for front covers of reports and other information.

First go to your favourites folder by clicking on the menu ‘Favourites’ then ‘View Favourites’.

 Upload your own files to favourites

Then you’ll see a new button ‘Upload a Personal Favourite’. Click on this then give your photo a Title, choose the image from your computer by clicking on 'Choose File' and locating the file on your computer. Then click ‘Create Favourite’ and your photo will be uploaded. And don’t worry. Only you get to see your Personal Favourites. They’re not visible to anyone else.

Who’s your Licence Manager?

If you are part of a multi-user subscription, you can now see who looks after your account within your organisation. Their name and email shows on the first page once you’ve logged in, so if you need any help with your account, you can get in touch with them directly. Licence Managers can add and delete users and update log in details if needed.

    It’s great to be able to add my own images now- thank you.
    I am unable to read your newsletter online though- whenever I click the ‘read online’ button, it takes me back to the same screen.
    Could you let me know if there is something I am doing wrong?
