Take Your Easy Read Documents to the Next Level

If you’ve used the Design area in Photosymbols, you’ll know that our range of page layouts give you many options for personalising your Easy Read document. Now, with our latest update, you can take that flexibility even further by removing, reordering, and repurposing panes within your pages.

What Are Panes?

Panes are the building blocks of your page. In our standard Easy Read pages, they’re often made up of an image on the left with text on the right.

Our latest update offers creative ways of working allowing you to:

  • Delete unwanted text or image boxes to simplify your layout.
  • Reorder panes to improve the flow of your content.
  • Repurpose panes by changing their type, adding variety to emphasise your message.

How Does It Work?

Next time you’re working in Design, keep an eye on the buttons that appear on the right-hand side of the page for customisable panes. Here’s what you can do:

  • Delete Unwanted Panes
Click the X button to remove a pane entirely. Changed your mind? Click the Restore arrow to bring it back.
  • Reorder Panes
Use the Up and Down arrows to move a pane up or down. Shuffle panes as many times as you need until your content is perfectly arranged.
  • Change the Type of Pane
The Replace arrows let you swap a pane for one of four styles:
    • Text: A full-width text box, ideal for drawing attention to key information.
    • Image: A single, central image to make a bold statement.
    • Canvas: Add multiple images or a mix of images and text.
    • Classic: Return to the familiar Easy Read image and text combination.
