EasyMaker doesn't just help you create Easy Read – it helps you create accessible Easy Read.
Built-in checks flag issues as you work: missing alt text, poor colour contrast, reading order problems. Your finished documents meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards - so they work for everyone – including people using screen readers or other assistive technology.
Most of the time EasyMaker handles these things automatically. But when something needs your attention, you'll know about it before you publish.
One document, every format
People access information in different ways. Some prefer print. Some read on their phone. Some want to listen. EasyMaker lets you create once and share in whatever format works best.

Images that work
EasyMaker suggests images from the Photosymbols library to match your text. If you can't find exactly what you need you've got options:

EasyMaker isn't just built on our two decades of Easy Read experience – it's informed by direct research with people who use Easy Read.
Our Newton Project has involved over 80 participants across 19 organisations, gathering data on how people actually want to receive information: what fonts they prefer, how they like layouts to look, what kinds of pictures work best, and whether they prefer print or digital.
This research shapes everything in EasyMaker – from the default fonts and layouts to the output formats we offer.

Some teams still need to think in terms of printed pages. We're adding an A4 view for those who prefer to design with a traditional layout - while still getting all the benefits of multi-format output.

Need help editing text?
If you're building a document from scratch using the block editor there is a tool called EasyWriter. It can help you simplify your text before starting your design. Find it in the Archive section of the dropdown menu on the right when you're logged in. EasyWriter has its own roadmap:

Built-in readability scores and grammar checkers to help you refine your text before it goes anywhere.
Send to EasyMaker
Once you've finished working on your text, click a single button to send it straight to EasyMaker. It'll recognise your headings, paragraphs and content - then automatically apply a suitable layout - no more copying and pasting one paragraph at a time.
