Karl Seymour
Founder / Director
Karl lives in Kent and loves exploring with his sheepdogs - Orwell and Layla. He leads our strategy and development, with a background in graphic design and accessible communication that shapes the vision for Photosymbols.
Pete Le Grys
Founder / Director
Pete lives in Bristol but travels widely. He loves percussion, samba and any music with an interesting rhythm. He leads co-production and community engagement with our Expert Advisers and self-advocacy groups and runs the Newton Project, helping people get involved in AI.
Martin Wood
Principal Architect & Software Engineer
Martin lives in Cardiff with his family, cats and Maple the pug. He designs and builds our technology and can turn almost any idea into reality. He’s also responsible for making the team laugh with his daily meme contributions.
Holly Yuille
Content & Operations Manager
Originally from Wales, Holly now lives in Worcester. She heads up the creative team, co-ordinates photo shoots and manages the photo library. She enjoys spending time off with her family and friends, reading and yoga. Holly was a Photosymbols customer before joining us.
Steve Shepherd
Photographer & Video Content Producer
Steve lives in Gloucestershire and brings years of editorial and press photography experience. He enjoys playing guitar and loves British indie music from the 80s and 90s. Now full-time with the team, Steve captures the real people behind our library.
Kat Wong
Symbol Designer & Resident Artist
Based in Manchester, Kat brings exceptional skills in image editing, illustration and generative AI. She works with Holly, the actors and Expert Advisers to create images for the photo library. Outside work, she’s interested in architecture and sustainable living, and loves all kinds of music.
Sarah Salmean
Customer Care Officer
Sarah is from Edinburgh and is the friendly voice on the end of the phone. She can help with queries, quotes and placing orders - and organises our newsletter and press releases. When she’s not working at Photosymbols, Sarah is also a model and loves writing, cinema and spending time with her two cats.
Our Expert Advisers
We work closely with a team of Expert Advisers who have lived experience of disability, learning disability, mental health, and being autistic. They guide our work and keep us grounded.
Working across the UK
Our office is in Bristol, England, but our team is spread across the country and our work reaches around the world. We travel to wherever we're needed for photo shoots, training, and research.
