If you’ve been using Photosymbols recently, you might have noticed a new button marked EasyMaker. It’s small. Unassuming. Just a quiet little label at the top of the page. But behind that button is one of the most ambitious things we’ve ever done.
Who It’s For — And Why It Matters
EasyMaker is our new tool for making Easy Read content - fast, clearly, and without needing specialist skills. It’s been built for organisations who want to make information more inclusive but often don’t know where to start. Think banks, GP surgeries, councils, energy companies - places where complex information gets shared all the time, but where accessibility is often patchy or missing altogether.
Expertise, Baked In
We know from experience that good Easy Read takes time, knowledge, and a bit of design magic. And not everyone has that. So we built EasyMaker to offer a different route - one where the expertise is built into the box. A flexible, accessible tool that helps people do it well, without the usual barriers.

To make things more flexible, we’ve added a Pay-As-You-Go token system. It’s perfect for those moments when you need to create something quickly, or when there’s no time to start from scratch. Whether you use it alongside a Photosymbols subscription or on its own, EasyMaker is there when you need a fast, guided way to make accessible information.
More Than Just a Document Maker
EasyMaker lets you create Easy Read in formats that meet people where they are - from printable PDFs and Plain English text to audio, web, and mobile-friendly interactive versions you can share by email, text, or add to a website. It’s Easy Read made for the 21st century - clearer, more flexible, and easier to share.

At the heart of the platform is the Newton Project - our year-long partnership with people with learning disabilities, helping us shape the way EasyMaker works. Every feature, every image, every creative decision has been influenced by real people telling us what works for them. That hasn’t just been helpful - it’s been transformative. It’s helped us use AI in a way that doesn’t feel alien or automated, but thoughtful, purposeful, and rooted in inclusion.

We’ve built a custom image generator into EasyMaker - because we know that no photo library, no matter how good, can cover every topic people need to explain. With thousands of different subjects out there, sometimes you just need something more specific. EasyMaker gives you the power to create images that match your words - clearly, meaningfully, and in a style that fits the Easy Read format. It means better alignment between pictures and text, and more room to communicate what matters.
