Sometimes you need an image we just don't have. Maybe it's a rough collie being groomed, a specific type of building, or something niche for a workplace document. We can't photograph everything - but that doesn't mean you're stuck.
EasyMaker lets you generate your own images, right where you need them.
How it works
When you're choosing an image in EasyMaker, you'll see a Generate tab. Type a description of what you want to see - "a person holding a bus pass", "a fire extinguisher on a wall", "two people shaking hands in an office" - and click Generate Picture.
A few seconds later, you've got an image ready to use.
If it's not quite right, tweak your description and try again. The more specific you are, the better the results. "A red apple on a wooden table" works better than just "apple".
Designed to fit
Our AI assistant is trained to create images that sit naturally alongside Photosymbols photography. You don't need to ask for a white background or specify "no clutter" - that's handled automatically. Clean, clear, focused on what matters.
The tool was developed with input from the Newton Project - our research programme involving people with learning disabilities across the UK. Their feedback helped shape how it works.
Any topic, no matter how obscure
This is where it really helps. Need an image about a specific medical procedure? A particular piece of equipment? Something for a document about plumbing fittings or beekeeping or canal boat maintenance? If you can describe it, you can create it.
No more hunting through the library hoping something close enough exists. No more settling for an image that's nearly right. Just describe what you need.
Use it as much as you like
AI image generation is included with every EasyMaker subscription. There's no extra cost and no limit - generate as many images as you need.
Your images, saved for later
Any image you generate goes straight into your Favourites. Use it again in future documents without generating it from scratch. Build up your own collection of custom images that work for the topics you cover most.
A few tips
Be specific. "A woman in a wheelchair at a reception desk" gives better results than "wheelchair user".
Check before you use. AI generates the image - you decide whether it works for your audience.
For times and dates, use the library or our DateMaker tool instead. Clock faces can be hit and miss with AI, but DateMaker gets them right every time.
And remember - real photography featuring people from the learning disability community will always be at the heart of what we do. AI fills the gaps, but it's not a replacement for authentic images of real people.
